Parents' Association

The Role of the Parents' Association

The Parents’ Association at Shiplake College plays a crucial role in supporting the school community. Comprising dedicated parents and guardians of pupils at the College, the Association organises a wide range of events and activities throughout the year. These events not only provide opportunities for parents to come together and socialise but also raise funds to support various initiatives at the school.

The Parent’s Association meet once a month – generally on a Friday afternoon - to plan and contribute to major school events and activities. Whilst there is no expectation to attend all these meetings, this is an active group. If you feel you may be able to give your time but can’t commit to regular meeting attendance, you may want to consider becoming a ‘Friend of Shiplake’ – which operates on a more needs based, ad hoc model.

Cindy Harper

Co-Chair PA

This is my fourth year as Chair of Shiplake Parents' Association having helped previously with the committee and supported the school as a year group rep. I am mom to Harrison (left Shiplake in summer 2023) and to William (joined Year 12 in 2023).

I work in education at St Mary's University working with primary teacher trainees. As a family we value charity work and support the London Run and Contact the Elderly. It is an exciting time to be part of Shiplake College, please get in touch if you want to know more.

Sarah Mullens

Co-Chair PA

This is my second year as Co-Chair with Cindy Harper. Our family were new to Shiplake in September 2022, with Angus now in year 12. Since arriving back to the UK, after ten years living in the US I have enjoyed being part of the PA and we have thoroughly loved getting to know the wider school community.

I am a speech and language therapist, currently working in a primary school which I love. Our eldest is now in the second year at University.
