Careers
Throughout their time at Shiplake, pupils have access to a team of experienced staff who offer support and guidance to help students make informed decisions about their futures beyond school life. This includes guidance in identifying a suitable career and help making successful university, apprenticeship or job applications. For more details on the careers support Shiplake provides please click here.
Head of Careers, Mrs Louise Rapple Moore, assists pupils from Year 9 where they are registered with Unifrog, an online platform which provides independent guidance on the full range of post-school opportunities. The site also allows a single place for students to draft all sections of applications such as CVs or Personal Statements. Please click here for more information on Unifrog.
In sixth form, pupils take part in Careers week where they are subject to series of talks, presentations and a Speed Networking session where pupils can chat to Old Vikings, parents and Friends of Shiplake from various industries. Shiplake pupils will also complete a week of work experience, which is an invaluable education in life and expectations of a working environment. If you are an Old Viking, parent or Friend of Shiplake and are keen to support our careers weeks and work experience programme, we would love you to join our mentoring community below by selecting the ways you can help. You can also click here to join our Friends of Shiplake Club to hear about any opportunities to provide our pupils with information and guidance concerning your industry.
Whatever your path in life there's lots to inspire and engage. You can even hear from our Old Vikings in our “Spotlight” news series on life after Shiplake and how they've turned their passions into careers.
Whatever you need - Shiplake is here for you, for life
