Turning passions into careers

Throughout their time at Shiplake, pupils have access to a team of experienced staff who offer support and guidance to help students make informed decisions about their futures beyond school life. This includes guidance in identifying a suitable career and help making successful university, apprenticeship or job applications. Head of Careers, Mrs Louise Rapple Moore, assists pupils from Year 9 where they are registered with Unifrog, an online platform which provides independent guidance on the full range of post-school opportunities. In sixth form, pupils take part in Careers week where they are subject to series of talks, presentations and a Speed Networking session where pupils can chat to Old Vikings, parents and Friends of Shiplake from various industries. Shiplake pupils will also complete a week of work experience, which is an invaluable education in life and expectations of a working environment.
