This summer members of the Parents' Association were able to proudly present a cheque for £14,000 to Alexander Devine Children's Hospice, an incredible amount raised at the PA Summer ball this June.
The Summer Ball featured a raffle and silent auction with generous donations from local businesses and individuals. Parents in attendance showed passionate support, bidding enthusiastically and giving generously throughout the night. You can read more about the night here.
The donation will make a lasting impact on the children and families supported by Alexander Devine. The funds raised will enable the hospice to continue providing life-changing care and support for children with life-limiting conditions Thank you to the PA and to everyone who supported!
The Parents’ Association at Shiplake College plays a crucial role in supporting the school community. Comprising dedicated parents and guardians of pupils at the College, the Association organises a wide range of events and activities throughout the year. These events not only provide opportunities for parents to come together and socialise but also raise funds to support various initiatives at the school.
The Parent’s Association meet once a month – generally on a Friday afternoon - to plan and contribute to major school events and activities. Whilst there is no expectation to attend all these meetings, this is an active group. If you feel you may be able to give your time but can’t commit to regular meeting attendance, you may want to consider becoming a ‘Friend of Shiplake’ – which operates on a more needs based, ad hoc model.
You can also click here to join the PA Club and a member of the PA will be in touch.
