Old Vikings

The day you leave Shiplake is the day you become an Old Viking and join the thousands of others who have forged a path before you.

Being part of this group is something very special and our aim is to ensure that this bond remains as true a day after exiting the gates of the College as it is decades later.

Reunions...

As an Old Viking we want you to be not only part of the rich history of the College but also a significant part of it’s future. Alongside our Shiplake CONNECTED platform, the College will host a number of events, reunions and networking opportunities to help foster a strong sense of community and camaraderie among our Old Vikings, regardless of when they attended the College.

Support...

In addition to providing opportunities for socialising and networking, by being an Old Viking we hope you will also play a crucial role in supporting the College through fundraising efforts and volunteer initiatives. Old Vikings often contribute their time, expertise, and resources to help enhance the student experience, support development and contribute to the overall success of the College.

We truly believe by maintaining strong ties with our alumni community, Shiplake College is able to benefit from the wealth of knowledge, experience, and support that its former students and staff have to offer, ensuring that the school continues to thrive and evolve for years to come.

Community.

To find out more about news, events and activities for Old Vikings you may want to join the Old Vikings Club. To ensure you have a fully bespoke experience you can select to be part of the Old Vikings Club or specific decade clubs or both. You can also choose to join clubs of interest – from Sports to Arts – to be kept up to date with specific events such as Regattas, Sports Dinners/Invitationals and Past Masters Exhibitions and share your passion with other fellow OVs.

If you have any questions about being an Old Viking and how you can access the relevant Clubs or indeed if you are interested in starting a new club or becoming a Club Manager please contact connected@shiplake.org.uk

Old Viking Blazers

We love nothing more than seeing our Old Vikings sporting a Shiplake blazer. Whether it's lining the banks of the Thames to cheer on the rowers at Henley Royal Regatta or at an OVS social event, the more Shiplake stripy blazers the better!

Old Vikings are eligible and welcome to purchase a standard maroon, gold and black striped Shiplake blazer from our uniform suppliers Schoolblazer

Alternatively, Old Vikings may wish to purchase a made-to-order Shiplake blazer or waistcoat by Perry's.

We are now taking orders for Perry's blazers. This order window will close on Sunday 30 March - any orders placed after this deadline will not be ready in time for Henley Royal Regatta 2025.

Please note that only those who have competed at Henley Royal Regatta are eligible to order the Henley Blazer with the prestigious gold trim, and, importantly, Perry's CANNOT add the gold trim to other blazers after production. If you are a current pupil and unsure whether you will row at Henley this year, we recommend ordering the College Blazer or the Boat Club Blazer or waiting until after you have competed to order the Henley Blazer.

Perry's Blazers

There are four different blazer types (in Men's/Schooner and Women's/Skylark fits) and one waistcoat:

The College Blazer (£240.00) - Our iconic blazer in the Shiplake maroon, black and gold stripes with the school crest embroidered onto the chest pocket.

The Boat Club Blazer (£240.00) - The iconic Shiplake striped blazer with the Boat Club 'crossed oars' emblem embroidered onto the chest pocket.

The Henley Blazer (£260.00) - Only those who competed at Henley Royal Regatta for Shiplake College are eligible to order the Boat Club blazer complete with the prestigious gold trim.

The Homegrown Henley Blazer (£270.00) - A nod to our homegrown oarsmen. Those who started their rowing journey at Shiplake (ie those who joined the school in Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9) and went on to represent the College at Henley Royal Regatta are eligible to order The Boat Club blazer complete with prestigious gold trim and gold lining.

The Henleys Waistcoat (£110.00) - Anyone who has rowed for the College at more than one Henley Royal Regatta is eligible to order a waistcoat.

Blazers are made to order from our supplier Perry's. Before placing your order, please refer to their measuring guidelines and sizing charts found below. Please note sizes (are in even numbers only) and fit MUST be added alongside delivery requirements before you complete the order.
