On Wednesday 10 June 2025, Shiplake College welcomed back two distinguished alumni for a celebratory lunch hosted by Headmaster, Tyrone Howe. Carl Harris (16S) and Conor Crowe (17O), recipients of the 2024 Old Viking of the Year Awards, were honoured for their outstanding achievements and continued embodiment of the College’s values: Inclusive, Individual, and Inspirational.
After a delicious lunch, Carl and Conor sat down with Mr Howe, for a chat about the College's 3 Is -Inclusive, Individual and Inspirational. They discussed what these values mean to them and how they have implemented this Shiplake ethos in their working and personal lives post-Shiplake. The full interview can be accessed here.
Carl Harris received the "Ones to Watch" award for his accomplishments in architecture and entrepreneurship. As an Architectural Assistant, Carl has led complex projects with skill and vision, while also managing multiple ventures including his appliance repair business, marketing work, and a restaurant role—showcasing his remarkable work ethic and leadership.
Conor Crowe was recognised with the Business and Industry Award for his success with Polar Media House, a content creation agency he founded after leaving Shiplake. Alongside teaching, Conor supports fellow alumni by offering work experience opportunities, reflecting his commitment to community and collaboration.
Other award winners include Charlie Moss (23S), honoured for his rugby achievements, and Ed Pinker (09O), celebrated for his acting career in film and television. You can read more about our award winners here. We look forward to presenting Charlie and Ed with their awards soon.
