The annual Old Viking Golf Day returned to Badgemore Park on Saturday 26 September, bringing our alumni together for a fantastic day on the course.
Guests arrived to brilliant sunshine from 11:30 am, fuelling up on bacon rolls and hot drinks before teeing off at midday. The scenic views were matched by clear skies and no breeze to speak off - keeping most on track to drive off the first tee!
Despite the incredibly hot summer - the course looked impressive and the ball certainly found it's bounce! It was wonderful to see great team spirit and laughter centre stage and lots of chat about life and fond memories of times at Shiplake.
Rounding off the day, players gathered on the terrace for a well-deserved BBQ and prize-giving, hosted by long-standing organiser Peter Webb (Shiplake staff, 1977–2004).
A big thanks from Headmaster Tyrone Howe and the whole group to Peter Webb for great efforts organising a brilliant event once again!
Prizes were awarded for:
