The long awaited arrival of Shiplake College - CONNECTED platform has arrived and we are so excited to share it with you.
What is CONNECTED?
We want to harness the power of our Community by bringing together everything that makes it so special. This platform allows all members of our school community to access news, book and keep track of events, share knowledge and passion in our clubs and share ideas in our forum.
With a wide range of tools to support our current pupils and alumni - our careers areas will allow you to find out more about university life, connect to other Shiplake Old Vikings who have attended or attending and get useful advice from people who care.
The networking function allows you to sign up to clubs and groups, attend networking events and make connections with people who may already be working in your chosen field. The mentoring area allows parents, staff and Old Vikings to provide valuable support and advice to past and present pupils, adding value way beyond the classroom.
Our shop offers merchandise for our whole school community and a second hand uniform area turns donations from our parents into useful and practical solutions for our pupils. We have also added a lost property section to the site - where we hope to house items found around the site. Where we can rehouse items that are labelled we will do our best to do so, but this will become a one stop shop for all things lost!
How to access CONNECTED?
We will be asking all year 11 pupils to create a profile before they leave to either step into Year 12 and 13 or move to another school or college. This way - each user can become familiar with the platform, set their own contact details, preferences and chose which clubs they want to be part of. Over time this can then be managed when the pupil moves into university or work and will keep you connected to what you value the most.
For Old Vikings - all contact records have been transferred across and an email would have been sent asking each person to update their contact details and preferences. We would ask that you do this as soon as possible so you can start to access everything that is available and on offer.
Current parents and staff - all current staff and parents will also receive an email requesting sign up. As we do not currently have all of your details, once again we ask you to complete your profile including setting your preferences for which information you want to receive but also if you would like to join any clubs or activities.
As with all personal data we are very careful with how we treat your information and part of moving to this system is to allow you complete flexibility and control over the information and content you receive and access.
