We would love to have the help of anyone wiling, who is aged 18+ by 19th August.
In exchange you will be given free access to the full 4 days of the Reading Festival, with plenty of time to enjoy all that the festival has to offer (around their allocated volunteering shifts).
The Lady Garden Foundation, the revolutionary UK charity taking on the five gynae cancers, is looking for student volunteers to help man the Lady Garden Foundation’s tent within the Reading Festival AIR HUB (the(zone for Assistance, Information & Response within the festival).
The Lady Garden’s aim is to spread vital awareness about gynaecological health to thousands of festival-goers, and to provide a fun and engaging area for them to visit during their time at the Festival.
This is an incredible chance for students to enjoy one of the UK's best music festivals (for free) while contributing to a truly important cause and enhancing their CVs.
WHO?: 18 year olds (and over), keen to help a great cause and get volunteering experience on their CV.
WHAT?: 2-4 shifts across the festival (each shift being 6 hours) volunteering in the Lady Garden Foundation ‘Get Ready With Me’ tent.
There will be benches, mirrors and hairdryers (for festival goers to use) and lots of fun activities and freebies to give away. Our volunteers will be engaging with festival attendees and helping to raise the profile of gynae cancers and sharing vital knowledge and positive steps people can take to take to enhance their gynae health.
Please note that our tent will need to be staffed 24/7 so volunteers may be required to work a night shift. All shifts are worked in teams of 4 people (and groups of friends can register as a team and volunteer for the same shifts together) There is a security guard allocated to the AIR Hub area. Please see details about the AIR Hub here - https://www.readingfestival.com/news/safeguarding-at-our-festival/
WHY?: Benefit from a CV-enhancing volunteering experience at a vibrant community event! Spreading life-saving information and working alongside the fabulous Lady Garden team. Plus free entry to Reading Festival with plenty of free time each day to enjoy the Festival too (see line up below)
We will give our volunteers full training, support (and hopefully some fun merchandise to take home too!)
WHERE?: Reading Festival, Volunteers are welcome to stay onsite (at their own arrangement in terms of bringing their own tent- but they will be entitled to a free camping spot in the staff camping area). Alternatively, they can travel in each day for the festival.

ABOUT THE LADY GARDEN FOUNDATION
WE ARE LOUD AND WE ARE BOLD
WE ARE RESTLESS AND WE ARE RELENTLESS
WE ARE LADY GARDEN
The Lady Garden Foundation, is a fearless force taking on gynae cancers - smashing stigma, funding research and saving lives. Our revolutionary, taboo-busting mission covers the five gynaecological cancers: Ovarian, Cervical, Womb (Uterus), Vulval, Vaginal.
Today, and every day, 60 women in the UK will receive the life-changing news of a gynaecological cancer diagnosis, and 21 people will die from one of these cancers.
Together with a powerful network of generous donors, charity partners, trustees, ambassadors, universities, schools, fundraisers, patients and brand partners, Lady Garden is determined to make these cancers #silentnomore.
Founded in 2014, the charity initially funded ground-breaking research into the treatment of the five cancers at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Over the last ten years, the Lady Garden Foundation has developed a year-round programme of annual events, wide-reaching education programmes, high-impact awareness campaigns and on-going funding for a host of cutting-edge research projects with global impact.
